Editorial policy
Honest Design Journal aims to make design easier to read without pretending that every question has a single right answer. We explain the basis for our claims, distinguish observation from interpretation and welcome correction when a detail is wrong or incomplete.
Accuracy and context
We check names, descriptions and factual claims against suitable available sources before publication. We take care not to turn an example into a universal rule. Where a judgement is interpretive, we present it as a reading of the design rather than an established fact. Articles are not professional advice for safety-critical or regulated decisions.
Independence and partner material
Editorial choices are made for readers, not as a promise of favourable coverage. Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled where it appears, and any relevant relationship is disclosed. A partnership does not guarantee a mention, recommendation or editorial conclusion.
Corrections and illustrations
If you find an error, contact us with the article and detail in question. We review correction requests and amend substantiated errors, making the nature of a significant correction clear in the article. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where this is the case, they are identified as such and are not presented as documentary photographs.
Good design rewards a second look
We look past first impressions to the choices that make an object, page or place legible and useful. Design is not only how something appears; it is also how it meets a person.
